With declining sweet water levels around the world – the world is alarmed since only 1/4th of the worlds water can be used for agriculture and a rising demand of food with an increasing global population puts a lot of stress.

#Scientists in #Pakistan at the #Institute_of_Sustainable_Halophyte_Utilization are working on discovering species of plants that can be grown with saltwater which can serve as a source of #fodder#forage#biofuel#oilseeds#medicinalplants and other possible usages! They are not only collaborating with several professors from around the world – but also have support from #UNESCO. Youth members from #UNAP visited the conference where they met with the Director at UNESCO France amongst others. They are excited to undertake similar projects at student level and raise awareness. Kudos!
