Climate change and economic growth present complex, interconnected global challenges. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer a comprehensive framework for addressing these issues. The UNAP x Greenwich University debate, “Sustainable Growth Not at the Cost of Climate,” strived to develop critical thinking on balancing economic development and environmental sustainability within this framework.

The debate aimed to foster critical thinking on balancing economic development and environmental sustainability. The event engaged students in a dialogue on global challenges, encouraging innovative solutions.By emphasizing the interconnectedness of the SDGs, it equipped students with a deeper understanding of climate change’s complexities. Participants showcased improved critical thinking and communication skills, and demonstrated improved understanding of the SDGs.

By providing a platform to articulate perspectives on sustainable development, climate change, and adaptation, and their ability to articulate complex arguments, the project aimed to cultivate students’ potential as future leaders in sustainable development.
